On Friday, The Potlatch Loggers faced the Valley Vikings in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Potlatch lost to Valley on the road by a decisive 30-16 margin. Potlatch has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Valley's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Thomas Vargas, who rushed for 114 yards and a touchdown on only seven carries. Vargas was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 59 yards. Valley also got a significant boost from Aaron Damian, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 100 yards.
Potlatch's loss dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Valley, their win was their fourth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 6-4.
Potlatch does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Valley will face off against Butte County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Idaho (Butte County is ranked third, while Valley is ranked ninth).
