There's no place like home for the Commerce Tigers, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Wednesday. They came out on top against Tallulah Falls by a score of 45-35 on Thursday. This was payback for Commerce, who suffered a 64-41 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Leading Commerce to victory were Malay L miitchell and Jada Palumbo. L miitchell dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds, while Palumbo scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Palumbo has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last nine times she's played. Jayah vann was another key contributor, scoring five points along with five rebounds.
Commerce is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season. As for Tallulah Falls, their loss dropped their record down to 6-6.
Commerce and Elbert County will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 16th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Elbert County will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings (they are ranked 260th, while Commerce is ranked 124th). As for Tallulah Falls, they will be playing at home against Prince Avenue Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
