Brookfield Central has been on the road for two straight, but on Tuesday they'll finally head home. They will be home for the holidays to greet the Brookfield East Spartans at 6:00 p.m. Brookfield Central will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Wisconsin Rankings (they are ranked 304th, while Brookfield East is ranked 29th).
Brookfield Central's game on Friday was all tied up 35-35 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They took a 78-63 bruising from Hamilton. Even though they lost, Brookfield Central's still made a splash on offense and bumped their average scoring up to 50.7 points per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).
Despite the defeat, Brookfield Central had strong showings from Josie Piurkowski, who scored 19 points along with eight rebounds, and Dylan Romero, who scored 18 points along with eight rebounds. Piurkowski scored a full 30.2% of Brookfield Central's points, the fifth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Olivia Witon was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Meanwhile, Brookfield East entered their tilt with Divine Savior Holy Angels with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. Brookfield East came out on top against Divine Savior Holy Angels by a score of 51-43 on Friday.
Brookfield Central's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Brookfield East, they pushed their record up to 6-2 with that win, which was their third straight on the road.
Brookfield Central was dealt a bruising 51-18 loss at the hands of Brookfield East in their previous meeting back in January. Can Brookfield Central avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
