After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Central, the Woodlawn-B.R. Panthers were happy to have found some success on Friday. They secured a 24-20 W over Scotlandville. This was payback for Woodlawn-B.R., who suffered a 28-24 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Scotlandville's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Darren London, who rushed for 86 yards and two touchdowns, and Ferzell Shepard jr who picked up 67 receiving yards and a touchdown. Shepard jr was no stranger to the big play, connecting with a big catch that went for 66 yards.
Woodlawn-B.R. pushed their record up to 3-7 with that win, which was their third straight at home. Admittedly, the team didn't face the toughest opposition across those games, namely Scotlandville, Liberty Magnet, and Carver Collegiate Academy. As for Scotlandville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-9.
Woodlawn-B.R. will head out on the road to face off against Huntington at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Scotlandville does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
