Alchesay is 0-6 against Show Low since April of 2015 but things could change on Friday. The Falcons will be playing at home against the Cougars at 6:00 p.m. Alchesay is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.1 runs per game this season.
Snowflake hit Alchesay with a seven-run fourth inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Falcons lost 11-1 to the Lobos.
Alchesay saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alex Cosay, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run.
Meanwhile, Show Low was not the first on the board on Thursday, but they got there more often. They were the clear victors by a 13-7 margin over Blue Ridge. Considering the Cougars have won nine matches by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Karter Alexander was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 3.2 innings while giving up just one earned run but no hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with one triple and two RBI.
In other batting news, Jonathan Mackenzie was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with three runs and two RBI. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Easton Hatch was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.
Show Low was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Show Low's win bumped their record up to 14-8. As for Alchesay, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-7.
Show Low's pitching crew better be locked in on Friday. Alchesay hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.4 home runs per game. It's a different story for Show Low, though, as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0 home runs. Will they be able to keep Alchesay in the park?
