The Ozaukee Warriors are taking a road trip to challenge the Kohler Blue Bombers at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Ozaukee has given up an average of 8.1 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Ozaukee came into this matchup off a tough 11-run defeat on Tuesday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of Dominican by a score of 11-9 on Saturday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Warriors have suffered since April 25, 2024.

Mason Schroeder was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He tossed five innings while giving up just one earned (and five unearned) runs off five hits. Schroeder was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs and one RBI. Ozaukee is 2-1 when Schroeder posts two or more runs, but 3-6 otherwise.
In other batting news, Jackson Szydel made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. Stryker Bartels was another key player, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with one run and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Kohler came tearing into Friday's matchup with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Pioneers 14-0. The Blue Bombers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by seven runs or more this season.
Like Ozaukee, Kohler also got a great game from a two-way player: Kaden Harrington. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Harrington has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.
In other batting news, Collin Thorne was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four RBI and one double. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Zane Willadsen, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.
Kohler was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Kohler's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-5. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Ozaukee, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-7.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Ozaukee has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.9 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Kohler struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.9 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Ozaukee came up short against Kohler in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, falling 9-5. Can the Warriors avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
