Lovejoy has been on the road for two straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will be home for the holidays to greet the Greenville Lions at 6:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Tuesday, it was a hard-fought game, but Lovejoy had to settle for a 39-37 defeat against Melissa. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Lovejoy came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 120th, while Melissa is ranked 289th).
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Greenville, who are still winless after their 17th matchup. They took a serious blow against McKinney North on Tuesday, falling 94-6. Greenville was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 55-4.
Lovejoy's loss dropped their record down to 12-7. As for Greenville, their loss was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-17.
Lovejoy beat Greenville 48-36 when the teams last played back in January. Will Lovejoy repeat their success, or does Greenville have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
