On Tuesday, Maud came up short against Marshall Christian Academy and fell 37-30.
Despite the loss, Maud saw an underclassman step up: Mallorie Bishop scored 19 points. Bishop scored a full 63.3% of Maud's points, the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Bayla White was another key contributor, scoring five points.
Marshall Christian Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Macy Hester led the charge by scoring 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lexie Morgan, who scored nine points.
Maud's defeat dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Marshall Christian Academy, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-4.
Maud will be home for the holidays to greet New Diana at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully New Diana focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 30 on Tuesday. As for Marshall Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Bowie at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
