The Rogers Rams will head out on the road to challenge the Anthony Wayne Generals at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Rogers will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings (they are ranked 151st, while Anthony Wayne is ranked seventh).
Last Saturday, Rogers came up short against Archbishop Hoban and fell 64-52.
Meanwhile, Anthony Wayne had already won eight in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 24.3 points), and they went ahead and made it nine on Monday. They breezed by Clay at home to the tune of 80-21. Anthony Wayne has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 contests by 22 points or more this season.
Anthony Wayne can attribute much of their success to Leah Pike, who scored 18 points along with four steals, and Elise Bender, who scored 25 points along with six steals. Bender hasn't dropped below 15points for six straight games. Sophie Smith was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with five assists.
Rogers' loss dropped their record down to 9-6. As for Anthony Wayne, they pushed their record up to 14-2 with that victory, which was their 17th straight at home.
