The South Medford Panthers will head out on the road to face off against the North Medford Black Tornado at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Oregon (South Medford is ranked 19th, while North Medford is ranked 12th).
Last Friday, South Medford got themselves on the board against Roseburg, but Roseburg never followed suit. They blew past the Indians, posting a 35-0 victory on the road. The win made it back-to-back wins for South Medford.
Bridger Foss went supernova for South Medford, rushing for 176 yards and three touchdowns. South Medford also got a significant boost from Wesley Boyd, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 83 yards.
South Medford's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB four times. Leading the way was Jacob Dalton and his two sacks.
Meanwhile, North Medford put the finishing touches on their sixth blowout victory of the season on Friday. They took their match at home with ease, bagging a 45-0 win over McNary. The high flying offensive effort was a huge turnaround for North Medford's three-point performance the matchup before.
Their wins lifted both teams to an identical 6-2.
South Medford was dealt a bruising 35-0 loss at the hands of North Medford when the teams last played back in October of 2022. Can South Medford avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
