The Pomona Panthers's game last Friday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They took down Wheat Ridge 43-29. That's another feather in the cap for Pomona, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Kendra Ritzmann was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds. She has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last nine times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Aaliyah Valenzuela, who scored seven points along with seven blocks.
Pomona is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season. As for Wheat Ridge, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pomona the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Alameda at 6:00 p.m. on January 12th. Hopefully Alameda focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 29 on Wednesday. As for Wheat Ridge, they will be playing in front of their home fans against D'Evelyn at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. D'Evelyn is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road.
