For Cross County, this counts as revenge for the 39-27 loss McCool Junction walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January.
Cross County can attribute much of their success to Shyanne Anderson, who scored 16 points. Bricelynn Larson was another key contributor, scoring 7 points along with 3 steals.
When it comes to explaining why McCool Junction lost, one person who can't be blamed is McKenna Yates. Despite the final result, she scored 22 points along with 3 steals and 3 blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Ella Clark, who scored 10 points.
Cross County's victory bumped their record up to 1-0. As for McCool Junction, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.
Cross County won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Shelby-Rising City at 6:00 p.m. on December 1st. As for McCool Junction, they will be playing at home against Hampton at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.
