The Lakeland Christian Vikings waltzed into Friday's game with two straight wins but they left with three. They put the hurt on Tenoroc with a sharp 54-31 victory. Given Lakeland Christian's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 116th, while Tenoroc is ranked 381st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Lakeland Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kiya Boyce, who scored 11 points along with 7 rebounds and 7 steals. Boyce is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Sarah Bennett was another key contributor, scoring 17 points.
Lakeland Christian has yet to lose a game on the road this season, leaving them with a 3-0 record. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.3 points per game. As for Tenoroc, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lakeland Christian will take on Academy at the Lakes at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Academy at the Lakes is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. As for Tenoroc, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Horizon at 7:00 p.m. on December 7th.
