Crimson Cliffs has struggled against Dixie recently, as their match on Thursday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Crimson Cliffs' loss came despite strong showings from Kenadee Richey and Josie Myers. Richey scored 12 points, while Myers scored six points along with four blocks. Richey continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Colleen Korella, who scored five points along with two steals and two blocks.
It was another big night for Hali Smith, who almost dropped a triple-double on 20 points, nine rebounds, and nine steals for Dixie. Smith is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Brinlee Bennett was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with eight rebounds and four steals.
Crimson Cliffs has been struggling recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-13 record this season. As for Dixie, the win got them back to even at 9-9.
Crimson Cliffs will head out on the road to challenge Snow Canyon at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Snow Canyon will be looking to extend their current 14-game winning streak. As for Dixie, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Hurricane at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Utah (Hurricane is ranked 44th, while Dixie is ranked 47th).
