Wayne moved up to 142 from 223 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Section 5 Finger Lakes - East. The Eagles were able to move up by defeating Livonia 25-14.
Palmyra-Macedon and Franklin/Jefferson played the most contested game in the league this week, with Palmyra-Macedon eventually emerging with a 35-32 victory. Stephen Morrell threw for 89 yards and 3 touchdowns and ran for 102 yards during the win.
Morrell put up the best numbers through the air as the Red Raiders beat the Quakers. Morrell's favorite target this week was David Sweeney, who caught 2 passes for 31 yards.
Wayne's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Eagles feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Nathan Currier has thrown for 1,383 yards and 18 touchdowns this season, while Justin Morrison has 23 catches for 476 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Geneva takes on Wayne. At the moment, the Panthers are in first, while David Marean's team is in fourth.
The Eagles made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 5,598 from 7,195. The improvement was the result of a 25-14 victory over the Bulldogs last week.
