They pulled ahead with a 60-59 photo finish over Pine Hill. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Tse' Yi' Gai found their leader in underclassman Tracea Negale, who scored 24 points. Negale continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Brienna Toledo, who scored 13 points.
Despite the loss, Pine Hill still got an impressive performance from Virances Martinez, who scored 31 points along with two steals. That was a full 52.5% of Pine Hill's points, marking the sixth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Skye Henry was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Tse' Yi' Gai pushed their record up to 9-4 with that win, which was their third straight on the road. As for Pine Hill, their loss dropped their record down to 11-8.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tse' Yi' Gai will challenge the Warriors at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
