Decatur has gone a perfect 10-0 against Jefferson recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. Decatur will head out to take on Jefferson at 4:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Decatur barely beat White River the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Decatur's pitcher stepped up to hand White River a 10-0 shutout on Tuesday. Considering the Golden Gators' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Not much got past Tyler Buol, who gave up just a hit and racked up nine Ks to keep White River off the board. Those nine strikeouts gave Buol a new career-high.
At the plate, Ethan Flavel was a standout: he got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run and three RBI. Nate Gilmore also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
Decatur hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as White River struck out nine times.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Jefferson). They blew past Kent-Meridian 22-0 on Tuesday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Raiders with their most commanding win of the season.
The team relied heavily on Kort Baker, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three runs, four RBI, and one triple. Kingston Edwards was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2.
The win made it two in a row for Decatur and bumps their season record up to 7-1. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 0 runs in those games. As for Jefferson, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
Decatur was able to grind out a solid win over Jefferson in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, winning 7-2. Does Decatur have another victory up their sleeve, or will Jefferson turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
