Latrell Carter Earns League's Top Spot
Starting off the list is Pine Forest's Latrell Carter, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. Carter rushed for 134 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.4 yards per carry, and also picked up 65 receiving yards and two touchdowns. He was no stranger to the big play, cutting upfield on a catch that went for 51 yards.
Pine Forest is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 4-3 record this season. Carter and Pine Forest will challenge Triton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Moore Came Up Big in Pine Forest's 52-32 Victory
Jaidon Moore posted a new career-high in rushing yards on Friday. He threw for 181 yards and three touchdowns on only 15 passes, and also rushed for 75 yards and a touchdown on only seven carries.
On the year, Moore has thrown 12 touchdowns while averaging 151.3 passing yards per game. He's made a big improvement compared to last season: at this point last year, he was only averaging 2.14 passing yards per game.

Overhills Gets a Boost from Kelly in 12-8 Defeat
While Logan Kelly delivered a dominant effort on Friday, a win just wasn't in the cards for Overhills. Westover had no answer to Kelly as he picked up two sacks and made 13 total tackles (3.0 for loss). Kelly has become a key player for Overhills: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least four total tackles, but 1-3 otherwise.
Overhills' loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 3-4. Kelly will have a chance to log another big game when he takes on Harnett Central on Friday.
