Given Success Unlimited Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 162nd, while the Knights are ranked 358th), the result on Monday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Nakai Depina continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 30 points and 12 rebounds. Depina is crushing the point category: he's posted at least 15 every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Timmorian Williams, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Success Unlimited Academy's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-4. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.8 points per game. As for Ezekiel Academy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-17 record this season.
Success Unlimited Academy won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against the Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on January 30th. Eastwood Christian has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 1. Ezekiel Academy will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against the Lightning at 7:00 p.m. on February 1st. Evangel Christian will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.
