The Lake View Wild Gators's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their eighth straight loss. They lost to Dillon at home by a decisive 51-33 margin. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Lake View has scored all season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Dillon to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jamarion Fling, who scored seven points along with nine rebounds and six steals. That's the first time this season that Fling pulled down eight or more rebounds. Daquavious Williams was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with seven rebounds.
Lake View's loss was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-8. As for Dillon, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 7-4.
Lake View will head out on the road to face off against Latta at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Latta focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 32 on Wednesday. Dillon won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Red Springs at 7:30 p.m. on January 5th. Red Springs will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in their respective state's rankings (they are ranked 461st in North Carolina, while Dillon is ranked 110th in South Carolina).
