The Desert Edge Scorpions will square off against the Buckeye Hawks at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Desert Edge is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.9 runs per game this season.
Desert Edge's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over North Canyon. The Scorpions haven't had any issues with the Rattlers recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.
The result came thanks to Justice Scott's shutout, as he gave up just two hits and racked up ten Ks.

On the hitting side, Desert Edge let Dougie Turasky Jr and Jayden Boschetti run wild. Turasky Jr went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one double, and one RBI, while Boschetti got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Turasky Jr has become a key player for Desert Edge: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least three hits, but 0-3 otherwise. They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Desert Edge kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Buckeye didn't have quite enough to beat Paradise Valley last Thursday and fell 6-5. The Hawks have struggled against the Trojans recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Mayco Morales was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching six innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. Morales was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Morales wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Maddox Villegas, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Buckeye's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Desert Edge, they picked up their first home victory, bumping their record up to 3-4.
Tuesday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Desert Edge has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .459. However, it's not like Buckeye struggles in that department as they've averaged .439. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Desert Edge was able to grind out a solid win over Buckeye when the teams last played back in March of 2025, winning 8-3. Will the Scorpions repeat their success, or do the Hawks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
