The Clearfield Falcons will take on the Bonneville Lakers at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Clearfield is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Kearns on Thursday as they made off with an 11-1 win. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.
Brody Unck spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up ten Ks.

On the hitting side, Colt Chambers was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-5. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Matt Rudman, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.
Clearfield was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .441. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Kearns only posted a batting average of .200.
Meanwhile, Bonneville hadn't done well against Northridge recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Lakers had just enough and edged out the Knights 6-5.
Hudson Taylor made a big impact no matter where he played. He struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off six hits. Taylor was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jet Hirschi, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one double. He is becoming a predictor of Bonneville's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 6-1 (and 1-5 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Zack Ohlin, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.
Bonneville is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.2 runs over those games. As for Clearfield, their victory ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-8.
Everything went Clearfield's way against Bonneville in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Clearfield made off with a 12-1 win. Do the Falcons have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Lakers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
