Columbia hasn't had much luck against Trinity Christian Academy recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Columbia Tigers will be playing at home against the Trinity Christian Academy Conquerors at 1:00 p.m. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Columbia sitting on three straight wins and Trinity Christian Academy on four.
On Friday, everything went Columbia's way against St. Augustine as Columbia made off with a 7-1 victory.

Bynton Edge was a major factor no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.
In other batting news, Trayce McKenzie and Max Shuler did most of the damage at the plate: McKenzie scored a run while going 4-for-4, while Shuler scored a run while going 2-for-3. What's more, Shuler posted two hits, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. Casen Maddox also deserves some recognition as he stole his first stolen base of the season.
Meanwhile, Trinity Christian Academy got the win against Creekside on Thursday by a conclusive 7-1.
Aaron Watson tossed a big game, striking out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit.
On the hitting side, Trinity Christian Academy's win was truly a team effort as seven different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Chris Reali, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2. Brady Harris #2 was another, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
Trinity Christian Academy's victory was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.1 runs over those games. As for Columbia, their win bumped their record up to 5-3.
Columbia's speedy runners might be the difference in Saturday's game. Columbia has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.9 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Trinity Christian Academy, though, as they've been averaging only 1.2 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Columbia continue to outrun the ball?
Columbia came up short against Trinity Christian Academy in their previous matchup back in April of 2021, falling 5-1. Can Columbia avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
