The losing side was boosted by Jovani Dorismond, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Joel Beard, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds.
Meanwhile, Plainview-Old Bethpage JFK took care of business in their home opener back in January (and then some). They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Academy Charter 72-44 at home. With Plainview-Old Bethpage JFK ahead 39-16 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
Academy Charter dropped their record down to 2-14 with that loss, which was their seventh straight on the road. As for Plainview-Old Bethpage JFK, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.
Academy Charter took a serious blow against the Hawks in their previous matchup back in January, falling 72-44. The contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Academy Charter was down 39-16.
