The South Kitsap Wolves will venture away from home to square off against the Graham-Kapowsin Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
As a matter of fact, South Kitsap put up the most runs they have all season on Wednesday. They blew past Spanaway Lake 27-4. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

Madison Bonilla made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in strikeouts (four). She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. Those RBI marked the first that she brought in this season.
In other batting news, South Kitsap got a massive performance out of Kelsie Hynek, who went 4-for-5 with three stolen bases, six RBI, and three runs. Those three stolen bases gave Hynek a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Maleah Sawyers, who went 2-for-4 with five RBI, three runs, and two doubles.
South Kitsap was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .576. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .323 or higher in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Graham-Kapowsin got the win against Bonney Lake on Friday by a conclusive 11-1. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won four matchups by six runs or more so far this season.
Like South Kitsap, Graham-Kapowsin also got a great game from a two-way player: Brooklyn Pettit. On the mound, she struck out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Pettit has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with one double and one RBI.
In other batting news, MaKena Rodgers was incredible, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Izzy Vargas, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4.
Graham-Kapowsin has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for South Kitsap, the win got them back to even at 3-3.
Monday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. South Kitsap has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .506. However, it's not like Graham-Kapowsin struggles in that department as they've averaged .473. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
South Kitsap might still be hurting after the 10-3 defeat they got from Graham-Kapowsin in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Can the Wolves avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
