The Kent County Trojans suffered their biggest loss since December 14, 2023 on Tuesday. They were beaten by Cambridge-South Dorchester 68-27. Kent County has struggled against Cambridge-South Dorchester recently, as their game on Tuesday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, Kent County had strong showings from Zoe Angenieux, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 rebounds, and Kate Cannon, who scored eight points. That was a full 37% of Kent County's points, marking the 11th time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Cambridge-South Dorchester's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but LeAsia Todd led the charge by dropping a double-double on 20 points and 13 rebounds. Todd is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. Tejanae Ballin was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with seven rebounds and seven steals.
Kent County's loss dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Cambridge-South Dorchester, their victory bumped their record up to 6-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Kent County will square off against Queen Anne's County at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Queen Anne's County will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak. As for Cambridge-South Dorchester, they will head out on the road to challenge Colonel Richardson at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Colonel Richardson is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
