Basketball Recap: Sugar Hill Christian Academy Comes Up Short

After flying high against Varsity Opponent last Tuesday, Sugar Hill Christian Academy came back down to earth. The Sugar Hill Christian Academy Stallions fell 45-33 to the Promise Prepatory Academy Knights on Thursday. While losing is never fun, the Stallions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 481st, while the Knights are ranked 225th).

Despite the loss, Sugar Hill Christian Academy still got an impressive performance from Nolan Swift, who went 6 for 9 on his way to 15 points and seven rebounds. Swift's evening made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Tyler Veugeler was another key player, putting up eight points and eight boards.

Sugar Hill Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Promise Prepatory Academy, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sugar Hill Christian Academy will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Kings Way Christian School at 8:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Sugar Hill Christian Academy is facing Kings Way Christian School at the right time seeing as Kings Way Christian School is stuck on a five-game losing streak. Promise Prepatory Academy will also get a bit of a break before their next matchup: they'll face off against Crossroads Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on January 9, 2025.
