HOUSTON, Texas - Leading by 40 points entering the fourth quarter didn't stop
Katy (Texas) from scoring, as it added 14 points in the final quarter on the way to a 62-8 victory over Strake Jesuit (Houston, Texas) on Saturday.
The Tigers were up 27-8 at the half after taking the lead on a passing touchdown in the first quarter.
Katy expanded its lead to 40 points entering the fourth quarter. KHS scored three times in the third, including once on a touchdown run.
With the win the Tigers extended their winning streak to eight games. Katy defeated the Spartans 38-13 last week.
The Crusaders' lone touchdown came on a pass in the first quarter.
KHS went into the matchup giving up only 11.0 points per game. Strake Jesuit's eight points were below its season average of 13.7 per game.
The Tigers also won the meeting between the two teams last season, 55-3.
In a 5A Region III District 19 game next week Strake Jesuit (1-7) takes on Mayde Creek, and Katy (8-0) will go up against Cinco Ranch also in a 5A Region III District 19 game.
