Basketball Recap: Linden Comes Up Short

It was fun while it lasted, but Linden's undefeated season came to an end after three games on Friday. They took a 69-53 bruising from the Venture Academy Mustangs. The loss was the Lions' first of the season.

Venture Academy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jayden Fakhouri out in front who shot 6-for-8 from long range and dropped a double-double on 21 points and ten boards. What's more, Fakhouri also racked up three blocks, the most he's had since back in December of 2023. Jeston Barnett was another key player, going 7 for 9 on his way to 15 points and three blocks.

Having lost for the first time this season, Linden fell to 3-1. As for Venture Academy, their win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-1.

Linden didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 44-42 victory against Western Sierra Collegiate Academy on the 14th. As for Venture Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 68-60 win against Christian Brothers on the 14th.
