It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Dunnellon Tigers had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. They managed a 68-64 victory over the Panthers. The victory was nothing new for Dunnellon as they're now sitting on five straight.
Dunnellon got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Tatiana Matthews out in front who scored 23 points along with eight rebounds and six assists. That makes it four consecutive games in which Matthews has scored at least a third of Dunnellon's points. Princess Hardin was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 20 points and 11 rebounds.
Dunnellon's victory bumped their record up to 21-3. As for Eustis, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-13.
Dunnellon is on the road again on Friday and plays The Villages Charter at 7:30 p.m. on February 9th. The Villages Charter has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. Eustis does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
