The Crowley Gent will head out on the road to challenge the Erath Bobcats at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Crowley comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 20 points in their last six games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
Crowley suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Friday. They took a serious blow against Abbeville, falling 74-17. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Crowley in their matchups with Abbeville: they've now lost three in a row.
Despite their loss, Crowley saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Alaysia Arvie, who scored ten points along with two steals, was perhaps the best of all. That was a full 58.8% of Crowley's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Meanwhile, Erath's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They took a 45-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of Kaplan.
Crowley has been struggling recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season. As for Erath, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 6-8.
Crowley came up short against Erath in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, falling 58-45. Can Crowley avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
