Like Skyview, Montbello also got a great game from a two-way player: Nicolas Torres. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Torres has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run.
Torres wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Santiago Rodriguez, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double. Ivan Gonzalez was another, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2.
Skyview's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Montbello, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-5.
