The Cedar Grove Saints had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 27.8 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Monday. They strolled past Tri-Cities with points to spare, taking the game 49-35.
Cedar Grove found their leader in underclassman Emmanuel Green, who scored 14 points. Another player making a difference was Nathaniel Loyd, who scored eight points.
Several Bulldogs players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jayden London, who scored six points along with 11 rebounds. Ja'shun London was another key contributor, scoring four points along with two steals.
Cedar Grove pushed their record up to 13-5 with that win, which was their sixth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.7 points per game. As for Tri-Cities, their defeat ended a ten-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 10-6.
Cedar Grove will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Sandy Creek at 7:30 p.m. Tri-Cities won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Banneker at 7:30 p.m. on January 16th. Banneker will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings (they are ranked 280th, while Tri-Cities is ranked 58th).
