While losing is never fun, Northwest can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 257th in Tennessee, while Calloway County is ranked 61st in Kentucky).
Several Vikings players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ivy Downs, who scored 14 points along with three steals. Downs hasn't dropped below two steals for five straight games. Kendall Myree was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds.
Northwest struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Calloway County was led to victory by Jaidan Koch and Sayler Lowe. Koch scored 16 points along with seven rebounds and four steals, while Lowe dropped a double-double on 17 points and 18 rebounds. That makes it six consecutive games in which Lowe has scored at least 25% of Calloway County's points.
Northwest has been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season. As for Calloway County, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-2 record this season.

Ohio County has now lost nine straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 1.
