Darien Rogers and Co. Win Eighth in a Row
Darien Rogers's big game helped extend Cypress Woods's winning streak to eight on Friday. Rogers rushed for 86 yards and three touchdowns, and also threw for 242 yards and three touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process.
Cypress Woods pushed their record up to 7-0 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. Rogers and Cypress Woods will take on Cypress Ranch at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.

Aiden Teran Turns in Season-Best Performance
On Saturday, Langham Creek got the W thanks in part to Aiden Teran playing the best football he has all season. Teran picked up 155 receiving yards and two touchdowns, and also punched in a rushing score. He has become a key player for Langham Creek: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least 100 receiving yards, but 1-2 otherwise.
Langham Creek moved to 4-3 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak. Teran and Langham Creek will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Waller at 6:30 p.m.

A Season-Best Effort from Jimmy Alarcon Leads Cypress Lakes over Cypress Ranch
On Thursday, Cypress Lakes had to settle for second even though Jimmy Alarcon put up the best numbers he has all season. Alarcon threw for 245 yards and three touchdowns, and also rushed for 33 yards and a touchdown.
Cypress Lakes now has a losing record at 3-4. Alarcon and Cypress Lakes will face off against Bridgeland at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Theodis Fields Has Career-Day on Thursday
Cypress Lakes came up short on Thursday despite Theodis Fields delivering his best game to date. Fields rushed for 149 yards and a touchdown on only seven carries, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 72-yard run.
On the season, Fields has run in 3 touchdowns while averaging 42.6 rushing yards per game. He's made a big improvement compared to last season: at this point last year, he was only averaging 25.57 rushing yards per game.

Cypress Ranch was led to victory by Owen Cossette, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Thursday. Cossette threw for 131 yards and two touchdowns, and also rushed for 108 yards on only seven carries, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process.
If history really does repeat itself, Cossette might just drop another big game when he faces off against Cypress Woods on Friday. Cossette threw for 479 yards and eight touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes, and also rushed for 81 yards and a touchdown the last time he and the Wildcats duked it out back in September of 2023.
