The Southwestern Heights Mustangs''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their sixth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 57-6 loss at the hands of Russell. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Southwestern Heights in their matchups with Russell: they've now lost three in a row.
Despite the loss, Southwestern Heights still got an impressive performance from Brayan Ramirez, who rushed for 95 yards, and also caught a touchdown.
Mason Rohr was on fire for Russell: he threw for 288 yards and five touchdowns on only 19 passes, and also punched in two rushing scores. Walker Middleton was another key contributor, gaining 156 total yards and two touchdowns.
Russell's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB six times. The heavy lifting was done by Roman Hernandez and Brody Pfannenstiel who racked up six sacks between them.
Southwestern Heights' defeat was their eighth straight at home (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 1-8. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 5.9 points per game. As for Russell, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-5.
Southwestern Heights does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Russell also has no future games currently scheduled.
