When it comes to explaining why West Henderson lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jaza Wilson. Despite the final result, she scored 13 points along with three steals. The game was Wilson's fourth in a row with at least ten points.
Mountain Heritage's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Lilly Neill, who scored 12 points along with four steals. Another player making a difference was Vega Deyton, who scored nine points along with five steals.
West Henderson's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-1. As for Mountain Heritage, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-2.
West Henderson will head out on the road to face off against North Buncombe at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. North Buncombe will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive. Mountain Heritage and Travelers Rest will round out the year against one another at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday at. Travelers Rest will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in their respective state's rankings (they are ranked 129th in South Carolina, while Mountain Heritage is ranked 25th in North Carolina).
