Master's Academy came tearing into Thursday's game with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.9 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against the Lake Highland Prep Highlanders as they made off with an 8-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won six contests by seven runs or more so far this season.
Julian Mercado made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out nine over five innings pitched. What's more, he gave up only one walk, the fewest he's had since back in February. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024.
In other batting news, Cy Smith was excellent, scoring a run while going 1-for-5. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (three). Trey Seluk was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one RBI.
Master's Academy pushed their record up to 10-3 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.
