Notre Dame-Green Pond can now show off seven landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Saturday. They claimed a resounding 49-0 victory over Wilson Area on the road. Given Notre Dame-Green Pond's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania football rankings (they are ranked 147th, while Wilson Area is ranked 495th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Danny Darno was his usual excellent self, rushing for 46 yards and two touchdowns, while also throwing for 167 yards and two touchdowns while completing 71.4% of his passes. Josh Ludlow was another key contributor, gaining 98 total yards and two touchdowns.
Another reason for the win was Notre Dame-Green Pond's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for five sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Brett Bruckman and John paul Pierce who racked up four sacks between them.
Meanwhile, Saucon Valley put the finishing touches on their third blowout victory of the season on Friday. They blew past Palisades 27-7. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Saucon Valley.
Saucon Valley's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jack Robertson, who picked up 179 receiving yards and a touchdown, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Robertson's longest reception was for an incredible 72 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Jared Rohn, who rushed for 58 yards and a touchdown.
Their wins bumped Notre Dame-Green Pond to 7-3 and Saucon Valley to 5-5.
