The Bentley Phoenix lost against the Athenian Owls back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Bentley lost to the Owls at home by a decisive 64-45 margin. Bentley has struggled against the Owls recently, as their game on Tuesday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
Athenian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Evan Lucas, who scored 17 points. Another player making a difference was Noah Olivier, who scored 12 points.
Bentley's defeat dropped their record down to 5-12. As for Athenian, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 18-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bentley will take on the Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Valley Christian has now lost 13 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 1. As for Athenian, they will head out on the road to challenge the Cougars at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. College Prep will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 681st, while the Owls are ranked 300th).
