Baseball Recap: Highland Prep West Victorious

The Highland Prep West HORNETS beat the Maryvale Prep Matador 10-7 on Tuesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the HORNETS.

Tristan Arenet was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three stolen bases, and four RBI. He has become a key player for Highland Prep West: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 1-5 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Matthew Lewis, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4.

Highland Prep West always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .568. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .519 or higher in four consecutive matchups.

Highland Prep West's win bumped their record up to 3-6. As for Maryvale Prep, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-5.

Looking ahead, Highland Prep West will square off against Mohave Accelerated at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Maryvale Prep, they will challenge Superior at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
