Bowie has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against the Irvin Rockets at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Bowie will be strutting in after a win while Irvin will be coming in after a defeat.
Last Tuesday, Bowie didn't have too much trouble with Young Women's STEAM Research & Preparatory Academy at home as they won 45-27. Bowie pushed the score to 37-14 by the end of the third, a deficit Young Women's STEAM Research & Preparatory Academy cut but never quite recovered from.
Irvin suffered their biggest loss since December 15, 2023 on Tuesday. They were dealt a 41-14 defeat at the hands of Harmony Science Academy.
Bowie's victory bumped their record up to 5-14. As for Irvin, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost 11 of their last 12 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-16 record this season.
Bowie suffered a grim 48-22 defeat to Irvin when the teams last played back in January of 2023. The matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point Bowie was down 29-7.
