If MCC was riding high fresh off their 78-38 takedown of Hinsdale Adventist Academy last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The MCC Crescents fell just short of the Northside Mustangs by a score of 45-42 on Monday. The Crescents' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

When it comes to explaining why MCC lost, don't look at Zayd Ibrahim. Despite the final result, he went 9 of 19 on his way to 21 points along with seven boards and five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Ibrahim Shaik, who posted eight points.

MCC's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 4-4. As for Northside, their win bumped their record up to 4-6.

MCC will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against Unity Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Northside, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Bogan at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
