Loudonville has enjoyed the comforts of home their last four games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against the Lucas Cubs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Loudonville will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings (they are ranked 726th, while Lucas is ranked 88th).
Last Saturday, Loudonville came up short against Central Christian and fell 51-44. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Loudonville in their matchups with Central Christian: they've now lost five in a row.
Meanwhile, Lucas put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They breezed by South Central at home to the tune of 75-48. Lucas' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lucas to victory, but perhaps none more so than Aidan Culler, who scored 21 points along with five rebounds. Culler continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Zach Diehl, who scored 13 points along with six steals and five assists.
Loudonville's loss was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 1-4. As for Lucas, their victory bumped their record up to 6-0.
Loudonville suffered a grim 60-34 defeat to Lucas in their previous matchup back in January. Can Loudonville avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
