Carrollton gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They claimed a resounding 48-21 win over the Woodward Academy War Eagles. The Trojans' offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.

Carrollton's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but CJ Cypher led the charge by throwing for 118 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Ryan Mosley was another key pass catcher, picking up 93 receiving yards and one score.

Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Carrollton proved: they limited Woodward Academy to a paltry 1.5 yards per carry. The Trojans' ground attack was stronger, having averaged 4.4.

Despite the loss, Woodward Academy still got an impressive performance from Ryan Harrigan, who threw for 230 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 73.7% of his passes, and also punched in one touchdown on the ground.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Carrollton will host Columbia at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Woodward Academy, they will be playing at home against Collins Hill at 8:00 p.m. on Friday.
