The Blue Hill Bobcats scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Monday. They really took it to Gibbon for the full four quarters, racking up a 56-21 victory at home. The win was some much needed relief for Blue Hill as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Leading Blue Hill to victory were Ellie Mangers and Reece Mlady. Mangers scored 22 points along with two steals, while Mlady scored five points along with 15 rebounds and five assists. That makes it five consecutive games in which Mangers has scored at least a third of Blue Hill's points. Another player making a difference was Josie Kirschner, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Blue Hill's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-8. As for Gibbon, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-11.
Blue Hill won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Harvard at 6:00 p.m. on January 16th. Harvard is hoping to put an end to a six-game streak of away losses. As for Gibbon, they will head out on the road to challenge Amherst at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Amherst presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Gibbon in Nebraska (Amherst is ranked 101st, while Gibbon is ranked 257th).
