You can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Wayne's strategy against Escalante on Wednesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Wayne Badgers blew the Escalante Moquis out of the water with a 62-27 final score. The Badgers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 23 points or more this season.

Wayne got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Makayla Jones out in front who posted 16 points and six boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Raegyn Blackburn, who put up 13 points and four steals.

Wayne smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in three consecutive matchups.

Despite the loss, Escalante saw an underclassman step up: freshman Rylee Frei had ten points.

Wayne's victory was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-4. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.6 points over those games. As for Escalante, they now have a losing record at 9-10.

Wayne does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Escalante, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 45-34 win against Vanguard Academy on the 11th.
