Burgin has been on the road for four straight, but on Tuesday they'll finally head home. They will be home for the holidays to greet the Brown Bears at 7:30 p.m. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.
Burgin pushed their score all the way to 56 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 57-56 to Columbus HomeSchool. While losing is never fun, Burgin can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 271st in Kentucky, while Columbus HomeSchool is ranked 55th in Indiana).
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 88-28, which was the final score in Brown's tilt against Male on Wednesday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Brown has scored all season.
Burgin bumped their record down to 0-8 with that loss, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Brown, they now have a losing record at 3-4.
Burgin strolled past Brown in their previous matchup back in February of 2017 by a score of 61-45. Will Burgin repeat their success, or does Brown have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
