Iola had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 27.7 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They came out on top against the Chanute Blue Comets by a score of 41-33. For the Mustangs, this counts as revenge for the 50-34 win the Blue Comets walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2024.

Iola's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-7. As for Chanute, their loss dropped their record down to 2-12.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Iola will head out to take on Prairie View on Tuesday. Prairie View's defense has only allowed 24.1 points per game this season, so Iola's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Chanute, they are taking a road trip to square off against Fort Scott at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
