Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Hammond Central Wolves  an   11-0 shutout. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for Hammond Morton considering their one-run performance the  contest before.

She looked comfortable on the mound,   not allowing a single  earned run and  only one  hit while striking out nine over five innings pitched. Abeyta has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  tossed less than five  strikeouts in four consecutive pitching appearances. Abeyta was also big at the plate,  scoring two  runs while  getting on base  in three of her four plate appearances.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Juleeana Temores, who  got on base  in all four of her plate appearances with a  home run, two  stolen bases,  and three  RBI. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more  stolen bases the last three times she's  played. Another player making a difference was  Shania Thompkins, who  scored a  run and  stole a base while  getting on base  in two of her three plate appearances.
 Hammond Morton has  been performing  well recently as they've  won four of their last five games,  which provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record  this season. As for Hammond Central, they have  been struggling recently as they've  lost eight of their last nine matchups,  which put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record  this season.
 Hammond Morton will be playing at home against Crown Point at 4:45  p.m.  on Wednesday.
